If you’re in need of a tooth extraction or other form of oral surgery, our dentists may be able to keep you under one roof for all of your dental needs. We can diagnose a variety of conditions, including wisdom tooth extraction.
During an exam, we can implement a strategy to best take care of the condition that needs treatment. Some conditions and procedures we treat are:
- TMJ or TMD – Pain occurring in the jaw due to the jaw joints and muscles that control the movement of the jaw.
- Dental Implants – A titanium post that is surgically implanted into the jaw to replace the root of a tooth.
- Tooth Extractions and Impacted Teeth – Removal of teeth that have erupted, or those have yet to erupt.
If you are looking for a wisdom tooth extraction, the best time to remove wisdom teeth are between the ages of 15 and 25 when the wisdom teeth erupt. Signs of problematic wisdom teeth eruption are:
- Damage to adjacent teeth
- Gum disease
Tooth decay may also set in when wisdom teeth begin to grow in because of the position and spacing between the teeth. The further back in the mouth you go, the harder it can be to keep the area clean and free of food and plaque.
If you are not experiencing significant problems with your wisdom teeth, you may never need to have your wisdom teeth removed.
Other reasons for tooth extraction can be spacing needed for braces. This is due to the inadequate amount of space in one’s mouth, causing severe crowding. In this case, extraction of all first premolars is necessary.
